New sophisticated publishing scam targets struggling authors on Amazon I

I recently received an email stating that “Effective 2026, titles with fewer than 10 customer reviews and inactive rating activity may face reduced visibility or listing restrictions” and that “Early action is recommended to maintain uninterrupted marketplace access.”

Since my entire bibliography, 14 novels, 2 plays and 2 collections of short stories, fits into that category, it caught my attention.

I get hundreds of spam messages a week from “book marketing experts” or book club facilitators...

I love birds.

In 2016, a parrot sanctuary on Vancouver Island closed permanently after its founder died leaving the facility in debt and hundreds of birds, once again, abandoned and at risk.

Over the next two years, dozens of volunteers lead by veterinarian and avian specialist, Dr. Anne McDonald, donated their time, expertise and money to nurse them back to health and rehome the occupants. It’s a story that still brings tears to my eyes and inspired my 5-book Mattie Saunders Series.
